On Saturday evening, members and friends of Greater New Haven Community Chorus gathered at Memories at the Traditions in Wallingford for a celebratory dinner and party marking the very day of the 55th anniversary of the founding of the WELI Community Chorus on November 3, 1963. The event included fun and games, raffle baskets, and a visit from Dr. Jessica Rudman, a composer on the faculty at the Hartt School of Music, who is currently composing a commissioned piece for GNHCC’s upcoming spring concert on June 8, 2019.
During the evening, attendees had the opportunity to watch a short slideshow, “Voices and Memories from GNHCC,” documenting highlights of GNHCC’s 55-year history, in the words of current long-standing members of the chorus:
