Greater New Haven Community Chorus Plans Choral Workshop in Preparation for its
Fiftieth Anniversary 2013 - 2014 Concert Season


New Haven, CT – July 17, 2013 – The Greater New Haven Community Chorus will be sponsoring a choral workshop taking place over the course of two evenings in August.  The workshop will take place at The Episcopal Church of Saint Paul and Saint James on 57 Olive Street (Chapel & Olive Streets) in New Haven on Tuesday, August 6th from 7:00 - 9:30pm, and Thursday, August 8th from 8:00 - 9:30pm.

The workshop will be conducted by GNHCC Artistic Director Noah Blocker-Glynn.  The course will encourage participants to dive a little deeper into the world of choral music.  The two part program will focus on lifelong healthy singing techniques, tips for successful practice outside of rehearsal, reading music, and much more.  Participants will receive a complimentary copy of two pieces of music that will be used as the "course of study." 

Registration fees are $50.00 for non-GNHCC members for both nights and $35.00 for current GNHCC members for both nights.

The workshop will provide an opportunity for interested choral singers to meet members of GNHCC and its artistic staff, Participants may join the chorus for their first rehearsal of the Fall season on Thursday, August 22 as GNHCC prepares to celebrate its 50th Anniversary season.  No auditions are necessary to join the group – all interested singers are welcome.

Greater New Haven Community Chorus is a non-auditioned chorus of approximately 100 voices which draws its membership from throughout the greater New Haven area.  GNHCC strives to embrace the wide diversity of the community and is committed to making quality music accessible and approachable for audiences and members alike.  Greater New Haven Community Chorus was founded in 1963 as a venture in community singing and continues to perform with pride and distinction.
